Tenderfoot

1st years need to have 3 service hours in order to get Tenderfoot. This is awarded in June following the February induction.

2nd Class

Awarded to 1st years in the December after the previous June advancement. 6 service hours are required for this advancement.

1st Class

Awarded to 1st years who by now are 2nd years, in June, one year + after joining the troop. 6 additional service hours are required for this advancement, or a total of 15 since joining the troop. Those 15 hours can be obtained any time up to earning 1st Class. Once a scout gets 1st Class, their service hours are erased. They now have 0 hours.

Star

10 service hours are required for the rank of Star, which is awarded at the June Court of Honor, one year later. As part of the Star requirement, a scout must participate in Den Chiefs, in which they run the WEBELOs program on Monday nights for one semester. Once a scout reaches Star rank, their 10 service hours are erased. They now have 0 hours.

Life

The next rank advancement is Life Scout. 15 service hours are required for this advancement. In addition, the troop has a Life Rank hour requirement, which will be explained at the time your scouts reach this point. Also required for Life is leadership. Once a scout reaches Life rank, his 15 service hours are erased. They now have 0 hours.

Eagle

The next rank is Eagle. 20 hours are required for this advancement in addition to an Eagle project and meeting the troops requirements for Eagle points. The Eagle points will be explained when your scout reaches this point.

Note:

  • It is OK for a scout to work more than the required service hours, but unfortunately, those hours do not roll over to the next advancement, with the exception of Tenderfoot and 2nd Class, up to the 15 hour cap requirement of 1st Class. However, if a scout works more than the required number of hours, he can always use it for his brag sheet for high school.
