Life Scout Scoring
To achieve the Life Scout Rank, a Star Scout needs to earn the Minimum Points for items 1 through 16, plus additional points for a total of 1,650. Discretionary bonus points may be granted for exemplary effort.
Parents of these seniors should review these records often and keep a close eye on the point totals to ensure the boys are staying on track.
Any questions or comments should be directed to Philip Algert.
Eagle Scout Scoring
Seniors spend their 4th year in Troop 223 running the troop, working on their Eagle projects and earning points toward the Eagle rank. Parents of these seniors should review these records often and keep a close eye on the point totals to ensure the boys are staying on track.
Any questions or comments should be directed to Andy Hubsch.

Eagle Scout Palms
Eagle Scout Palms
After becoming an Eagle Scout, you may earn Palms by completing the following requirements:
-
Be active in your troop and patrol for at least three months after becoming an Eagle Scout or after award of last Palm. (Eagle Palms must be earned in sequence, not all at once, and the three-month tenure requirement must be observed to earn the next Palm.)
-
Demonstrate Scout spirit by living the Scout Oath (Promise) and Scout Law in your everyday life.
-
Make a satisfactory effort to develop and demonstrate leadership ability.
-
Earn five additional merit badges beyond those required for Eagle or last Palm. (Merit badges earned any time since becoming a Boy Scout may be used to meet this requirement.)
-
Take part in a Scoutmaster conference.
-
Complete a board of review.
You may wear only the proper combination of Palms for the number of merit badges you earned beyond the rank of Eagle. The Bronze Palm represents five merit badges, the Gold Palm 10, and the Silver Palm 15. For example, if you have been awarded the Gold Palm, you would only wear that and not the Bronze Palm also.
You must wait at least three months after your Eagle board of review before you apply for the Eagle Palm. To apply for the Palm complete the attached Eagle Scout Palm Application. Complete only the first two sections: Application to Local Council and Record of Merit Badges. You also must include with the application a copy of the printout from W.L.A.C.C. included in your Eagle book that lists your merit badges and ranks. (It may be in the front of your binder and marked “Original”) On this printout 21 merit badges will be crossed out while others will have a handwritten notation of Bronze or Gold or Silver. Under Record of Merit Badges on the application list the five merit badges identified on the printout for the appropriate palm (Bronze, Gold or Silver) for which you are applying. Have the completed application reviewed and signed by the 223 Advancement ASM (Steve Algert) and one additional signature (Skip or Mike or someone else in Senior Leadership). Return the form to Steve Algert, who will work with the district office to process the application.
You may apply for another Palm three months after you have received one.
