Merit Badge Resources

There are 124 possible merit badges (“MB”) to be earned in scouting. Troop 223 organizes them into four separate categories.

  1. Required – the 13 required MBs for Eagle Scout, earned across four years f activities in the troop
  2. Troop – MBs earned through regular activity cycles within the troop
  3. Patrol – those MBs that are especially suited for patrols to earn as a group
  4. Other – the rest of the MBs that may be earned individually, e.g. during the summer months

IMPORTANT: Before you embark on earning a new merit badge, you must first meet with the counselor for that MB and gain prior approval. View the list of merit badge counselors.
