leading skillfully, making good choices, while serving others
Be a Leader
Troop 223 Girls is entirely YOUTH LED. We allow and expect the kids to lead. Girls have opportunities: to be leaders of their patrol, to be leaders of the entire Troop, to lead a service project, to teach merit badges, and to communicate with parents and community members. Girls learn to optimize the resources and abilities of each member of their team in order to realize a common vision.
Make Ethical Choices
We teach girls to make moral and ethical choices and to learn by reflecting on choices made, particularly while experiencing the challenges of outdoor adventures.
Be of Service
Scouts learn to be contributing members of their community. As part of their patrol experience, they participate in a variety of service projects. The Eagle rank requires an expansive project that the Scout plans, organizes, leads and manages. Scouts experience the joy and fulfillment that comes from the experience of helping others.

What People Are Saying
“As part of 223G, it couldn’t be more gratifying to see my daughters catch a salmon in Alaska, climb Half Dome, survive in the wilderness for two weeks, learn how to wake board and have the opportunity to lead other girls. They have made close friends along the way.”
— Matt W., ASM
“Troop 223G goes above and beyond in guiding girls to live up to the Scouts BSA motto, Be Prepared! In my three years as an Assistant Scoutmaster, I have been continually impressed by the 223G programming, family involvement, scout opportunities, and scout achievement. The Troop 223G experience is one that will have a positive impact on participants’ lives for years to come.”
— Cierra C., ASM
“Scouting has been a life defining experience for our kids. Troop 223G has given them the opportunity to develop confidence and leadership skills within a scout lead program. From once in a lifetime high adventure experiences to the annual summer week at Emerald Bay BSA Camp, Troop 223G enriches the lives of our girls while building upon the foundation of BSA values and virtues.”
